It doesn't get more Wisconsin than this! ... generous portions, reasonable prices. You can get a Moscow Mule in the copper cup for under $4... Deal!

Follow-up visit wasn't quite as good as the first time... Tuesday, May 13, 2014. - While it sits alongside the Crawfish river, you can't actually see the river from the place. There's a saggy metal barn/building blocking any chance of a view. + Bartender was outstanding - prompt, friendly, and made a mean cocktail for us + Drinks were cheeeeeeeep - $7 for a mixer and a tap (Fixed Gear) + Menu and specials sounded really interesting - prime rib, scallops, surf-n-turf, cajun tiger shrimp, etc., and all were reasonably priced Unfortunately, here's where things took a turn for the worse. We ordered: spicy cheese curds to start off with, a 2-piece catfish dinner (cajun spiced, please) with crinkle cut fries, and a petite fillet mignon with steamed veggies. Our friend ordered the AZ Mac burger with crinkle cut fries. Our server came back and announced: "We are out of spicy curds, krinkle cut fries, catfish, and we can't make the AZ burger right now." Hmm. So, we had to revisit the menu while she stood there explaining that they regularly run out of things on Tuesdays, and that the best days to visit are Mondays or Wednesdays (which, oddly, have different menu offerings than Tuesdays and Thursdays). We adjusted our orders: "regular" cheese curds, a small prime rib with regular fries, the tiger shrimp with beer battered fries, and of course, the fillet with steamed veggies. + The curds came out first: generous portion, nicely cooked, tasty ranch. Win. - The prime rib looked nice, but... it was undercooked, full of hard, stringy fat, and not all that fantastic. The regular fries were good. - The tiger shrimp were tiny little creatures and were over-cooked. The plate featured a huge mound of Sysco's finest beer battered fries, which were perfectly fried. - The fillet mignon was slightly undercooked, and full of hard, stringy fat. I could barely cut it with the steak knife, and it chewed like Jack Link's jerky. The steamed veggies were clearly frozen veggies and consisted entirely of "stems" of broccoli with 2 small slices of frozen carrot added in. It seemed like I got the bottom of the bag. Granted, our meal was relatively inexpensive, and we should've known better than to expect haute cuisine, but... come on... put a little more effort into stocking enough food and spend maybe an extra buck or two for some better quality ingredients, and all will be good. I promise. I'd say this was a 2.25 star visit, at best.

Went last night on a Monday. Waitress barely acknowledged our presence and wasn't sure what food was available to order on the menu. Offered to bring samples of a couple of the beers on tap but never bothered to come back to our table. Ended up walking out and finding a different place to eat. I guess if you're not a local, then you don't exist to them.

They have excellent fish fry with very generous portions! You can eat at the restaurant or take your dinner to go. The portions are generous and include a trip to the "salad" bar, which includes things like cole slaw, bread and broccoli/cauliflower salad. The salads and such are a plus, but the fish is the best part. If you are dining in, expect a wait! You can get a drink at the bar while waiting though. They have a fair selection of taps.

This is what I expect when I go to a fish fry. I was looking for this place but the GPS had difficulty finding the place, they are located at the northeast corner of County Highways Q and B. They have a small salad bar that has 7 layer salad, a pasta salad that was tasty, and some other salads that I did not try at this time. I noticed that menu gave the option of combining certain items from their fish fry menu and I chose this option. For $10 you could get 5 pieces of perch or 4 frog legs, for $16 you got the combo, 4 pieces of fish and 4 frog legs. The tarter sauce is nothing to write home about. The fish was very good and cooked well as were too the frog legs. The frog legs were tender and the breading was tasty. You do have several potato options, I picked the sweet potato fries. My girlfriend ordered the walleye with french fries and found it to be quite good. The meal was very enjoyable and was a good portion for the price. This is a bar and as such has a bar atmosphere, there is a "kids menu" but my guess is this is not a place to bring kids later in the evening. You can do take out and it may be recommended as the place has limited amount of seating. The menu also has burgers and other sandwiches on it. I shall be returning to try some of the other menu items. However this place is worth a visit for the fish fry, and it is not only on Fridays it is also available on Wednesday.

Great Friday night fish fry as a take out! You can't beat the price and you get everything you could ask for. We like to order the seasoned fries with a cod dinner and a perch dinner. The potato pancakes are also a good option. I highly recommend getting this as a take out and either going for a picnic or just enjoying your deck or patio at home.

I finally got out there for the fish fry. Fish was very good, but the tartar sauce is kind of bland. I went with the seasoned fries, which were good, but ( another condiment complaint) the ketchup wasn't the best. I'm not much for government regulation, but wouldn't mind seeing a law requiring Heinz ketchup in squeeze bottles! I guess if I were invited by someone to a fish fry at this place, I would go. I will go back and try something else some day, just to be fair. Oh, the seven layer salad at the salad bar rocks!
